Marni Resort 2014 ( styling )

Marni is suitably belted up this Resort, Consuelo Castiglioni edged towards a Japanese influence with boxy kimono structures, wide sleeves as well prints that mirror modernist artists such as Georgia O’Keefe. Yet this collection seems to have also utilised the 1940′s war era, with inspiration taken from the Depression decade when fashion flooded into America, bringing silhouettes such as Peplum, Empire lines and heavy belts.
The look is finished off with Marni’s Fussbett sandals, bringing a welcome rawness to the brand, that we haven’t seen in previous seasons. The jewellery is art deco inspired with circular structures, embossed with colorful jewels matching to the collection of bold prints and ‘on trend’ colors.
